TYRES

Tyres provide grip in a wide variety of conditions and also help prevent punctures because of heavy landings or riding on irregular surfaces.

Tyres’ width and diameter is usually measured in inches. In most cases, 20” bikes use a rear 19” rim, therefore you must install a 19” rear tyre. However, 24” and 26” bikes use 24” and 26” tyres, respectively, both on front and rear.

Key points:

· Width: normally, the front tyre has a width between 1.8” and 2.25”, whereas the rear tyre is between 2.4” and 2.7”.
