FORK

The fork connects the parts at the front of the bike. Trials forks don’t have a suspension, and are usually made of aluminium or carbon (high-end), although there are also steel forks (for starters-low end).

Key points:

· Brake mounts: forks have rim brake mounts (V-Brake or 4-bolt) and/or disc mounts (IS or Post Mount).

· Steerer tube: it can be standard (1 1/8” diameter) or tapered (1 1/8” – 1.5”).

· Dropout spacing: the standard is 100mm (used by most brands), but there are 70mm wide forks and others with special spacings.
