Clean X1 20" Silver 2026 Frame

New 2026 edition of the Clean X1 20" frame, featuring an elegant Silver finish and updated graphics.
Retains the geometry, materials and technical specifications of the well-known Clean X1 V4, one of Clean's aluminium frames designed for bike trials.

Available exclusively with a 1010 mm wheelbase, ideal for riders from 1.60 m tall (>14 years old).

Description and materials

- The Clean X1 20" Silver 2026 frame retains the design and technical features of the previous X1 V4 version, now with a new silver finish and updated graphics.
- Made from 6061-T6 aluminium alloy, with 7075-T6 machined aluminium parts, combining low weight with a strong and reliable construction.
- Tapered head tube, designed for 1 1/8” – 1.5” integrated headsets. The bearings sit directly inside the frame's head tube, without the need for separate headset cups.
- The head tube features two large side cutouts to remove unnecessary material and reduce weight.
- The main frame tubes feature additional gussets at the head tube junctions, increasing strength and stiffness in this critical area subjected to high loads during bike trials riding.
- Threaded 68 mm wide bottom bracket shell, with mounts for the 2-piece Clean mini bashplate.
- The seat stays are connected to the top tube through an additional brake booster-style reinforcement, helping to reduce rear-end flex.
- Contoured chainstays and seat stays provide extra clearance to prevent tyre or crank rubbing.
- The chainstays are connected by a small reinforcement tube that increases stiffness in this area.
- Integrated Post Mount disc brake mounts on the left dropout, machined in one piece for improved strength and durability.
- Features vertical dropouts and uses a double-wheel sprung chain tensioner (not included with the frame). This system keeps the rear wheel in the same position at all times.
- The double-wheel tensioner allows quick and direct chain tension adjustment without loosening the rear hub bolts or moving the wheel.
- The inner faces of the dropouts feature large machined cutouts to remove unnecessary material and reduce weight.
- The right chainstay features a dedicated mount for the chain tensioner, secured with an M5x16mm grub screw.

The 7 Compatibility Keys

Below you can find the main details you need to consider when installing different components on this frame:

- 1) Headset. This frame features a tapered 1 1/8” – 1.5” head tube with an integrated headset system, where the bearings sit directly inside the frame without the need for separate cups.
It requires an integrated 1 1/8” – 1.5” headset, such as the Clean K1.2 Integrated Headset, with a 1 1/8” upper bearing and a 1.5” lower bearing.
Unlike conventional internal headsets, this system does not require cups to be pressed into the frame, reducing the number of components and simplifying assembly.
The frame is designed for tapered 1 1/8” – 1.5” forks.

- 2) Bashplate. This frame features 4-bolt mini bashplate mounts on the bottom bracket shell. Due to the spacing between the mounts, it is compatible only with the 2-piece Clean Light bashplate or similar models.

- 3) Bottom Bracket. A bottom bracket with standard 1.37”x24tpi threading must be used. Both traditional threaded bottom brackets and threaded BB30 models (Try-All, Hashtagg, Bonz, etc.) can be fitted.
To prevent the cranks from rubbing against the chainstays due to the different shapes and offsets of each crank model, a 127.5 mm or 128 mm wide bottom bracket is recommended.

- 4) Rear Brake. This frame features Post Mount rear disc brake mounts, so a compatible Post Mount rear disc brake must be used. Post Mount calipers sit directly on top of the mounts, unlike IS calipers, which attach from the side.

- 5) Chain Tensioner. This frame requires a double-wheel chain tensioner, so snail cams or other types of additional chain tensioners are not required.

- 6) Rear Hub. Since this frame features double-wheel chain tensioner mounts, a 116 mm wide rear hub must be used. If you wish to install a 110 mm wide rear hub (commonly found on 20” bikes using snail cam tensioners), a 3 mm spacer must be added to each side of the hub to achieve the required 116 mm width.
Also, since this frame only features disc brake mounts, the rear hub must be compatible with a disc brake rotor.

- 7) Fork. Your fork steerer tube must be long enough to extend at least 2 mm above the upper bolt of the stem's steerer clamp.
To ensure this, add the frame's head tube length (120 mm in this case), the height of the integrated headset's upper bearing cover, any headset spacers installed below the stem, and the height of your stem's steerer clamp. Once you have calculated the total, you can check whether your fork steerer tube is long enough to extend at least 2 mm above the upper bolt of the stem's steerer clamp.
