Ozonys Curve V8 HYD 26" Frame

Description and materials
- Newest iteration of the most iconic Ozonys frame, the Curve V8 HYD 26”!
- This edition features a totally new rear triangle, including new dropouts and integrated sprung tensioner.
- Tapered 1 1/8” – 1,5” head tube, which is joined to the main tube to ensure maximum strength. It’s been CNC machined in one piece and features multiple holes that help remove any excess material and add a cool look.
- Thanks to hydro-forming, this monocoque frame has less curvature than previous versions, so the main tube is shorter and lighter.
- Twin seat-tube design, creating a triangular-shaped structure over the bottom bracket in order to achieve the stiffest tube arrangement possible.
- Contoured seat and chain stays increase tyre clearance, but also help improve the rear triangle’s stiffness, which is essential to increase braking performance.
- The chain stays are gusseted to the BB tube via a CNC reinforcement, which increases strength and stiffness of this critical area.
- New, CNC-machined vertical dropouts, with large holes that achieve the perfect balance between low weight and high strength.
- Uses a double-wheel sprung tensioner (included with the frame). Thanks to this system, the wheel is always placed in the exact same position.
- With the double-wheel tensioner, you can adjust the chain tension directly and instantly, without needing to loosen the hub bolts or moving the wheel.
- Designed for 135mm rear hub.
- Features 4-bolt, individual rim brake mounts, CNC machined and reinforced with a large weld.
- Supplied without an Ozonys sprung chain tensioner.

The 7 Compatibility Keys
Below you can find the main details you need to consider when building this frame:

- 1) Headset. Since the headtube on this frame is tapered, with 1 1/8” top and 1,5” bottom diameters, it’s compatible with 1 1/8” – 1,5” tapered forks. If you’d like to use a standard 1 1/8” diameter fork, you can install an adaptor for the bottom cup, available separately on our catalogue.

- 2) Bashplate. Just like most 26” frames, this frame doesn’t have any bashplate mounts. You can install a bashring between freewheel and cranks instead.

- 3) Bottom Bracket. A bottom bracket with standard 1.37x24T thread must be used on this frame, therefore you can install conventional and BB30 threaded BB’s (Try-All, Hashtagg, Bonz, etc.).
In order to avoid the cranks from rubbing the seat stays, which may happen due to varying crank offsets for each model, it’s recommended to install a 127,5mm or 128mm wide bottom bracket.

- 4) Rear Brake. This frame is available with 4-bolt rear rim brake mounts, so be sure to use a rear brake of that type. The spacing between mounts is 101mm.

- 5) Chain tensioner. This frame is supplied with a sprung tensioner, so there is no need to install another chain tensioner. Also, it’s compatible with the Clean X2 chain tensioner and those with the same dimensions.

- 6) Rear hub. Since this frame features sprung tensioner mounts, a 135mm wide rear hub must be used. In case you’d like to install a rear hub with 129mm spacing (common in 26” bikes that use snail cams), then you must add 3mm spacers to each side of the hub.

- 7) Fork. The steerer tube on your fork must be long enough so that at least 2mm of it remain above the top bolt of your stem’s steerer tube clamp.
To ensure this, you must add the length of the headtube (125mm for this frame), plus the cups bits that sit outside the headtube, plus the headset spacers (if any) and/or dust cover sitting under the stem, plus the length of your stem’s steerer tube clamp. Once you’ve done this, you’ll be ready to know if your fork is long enough so that at least 2mm of it remain above the top bolt of your stem’s steerer tube clamp.
